3-வது பொங்கள் ஃபுட்சால் காற்பந்துப்போட்டி 2010

The Youth Wings of Tamils Representative Council (TRC) and Bishan IAEC organized Futsal Fiesta ’10, a Futsal tournament, with independent Female and Male categories, under one banner. It was held on Saturday, 30 January 2010 at 0900 hrs at Asia’s largest indoor football arena, Fico Sports Hub.

Capitalizing on the ever-growing popularity of this South-American found sport, the tournament ensured youths participate eagerly yet competitively in active sports, which in turn, motivates them to incorporate fitness into their lifestyle thus allowing them an opportunity to rediscover their passion for sports. Furthermore, they gained an avenue to forge new friendships with sportsmen of similar interest.

Numerous supporters witnessed the intensity of 32 male teams and 16 female teams comprising of over 300 players, progress through 3 exhilarating stages, comprising, a Group Stage, Quarterfinal, and Semifinal to qualify for the Final.

Upon the sound of the whistle blown by our Guest-of-Honor, Mr T. Raja Segar, CEO of SINDA, the finals of both the Male and Female Category kick-off. After the exhausting ordeal, the Champion of each category was awarded the coveted Championship trophy, with the top three runner-ups receiving medals for their respective achievements.

The winners of both categories posed proudly, taking photos and parading around with their huge trophies and shiny medals, before helping themselves with the much-wanted refreshments, as the soccer madness looked to come to a pleasant end. However, with plans on its way to organize a record-breaking, 24-hour soccer marathon, featuring a massive 128 teams, with over 1000 matches played, next year, the soccer madness is far from an end.
