இரு குடைகளின் கீழ் இந்தியர்கள்
சிங்கப்பூர் இந்தியர்களின் பங்கு இரு குடைகளின் கீழ் இருப்பது
போன்றது. அதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தை உணர்ந்து அனைவரும் செயல்படவேண்டும்
என நிதி அமைச்சர் தர்மன் சண்முகரத்னம் கூறியிருக்கிறார்.
சனிக்கிழமை இரவு அடித்தள மனமகிழ்
மன்றத்தில் நடைபெற்ற தமிழர் பேரவை தேசிய தின விருந்து மற்றும்
விருது வழங்கும் நிகழ்ச்சியில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் ஆகத் திரு
தர்மன் கலந்து கொண்டார்.
சிண்டா, தமிழர் பேரவை, தமிழ்
மொழி பண்பாட்டுக் கழகம், சிங்கப்பூர் தமிழாசிரியர்கள் சங்கம், லிஷா
எனப்படும் லிட்டில் இந்தியா வர்த்தகர்கள் மற்றும் மரபுடைமைச் சங்கம்,
தமிழ் மொழிக் கற்றல், வளர்ச்சிக் குழு போன்ற சிங்கப்பூரின் பிரதான
தமிழ் அமைப்புகள் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து இது போன்ற பெரிய நிகழ்ச்சிகளை
நடத்துவது தமக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது என்றார்.
கந்தசாமி கல்வி அறக்கட்டளை
நிதிக்கு ஆதரவும் நன்கொடையும் வழங்கிய அனைத்து அமைப்புகளுக்கும் தனி
நபர்களுக்கும் அவர் நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.
இந்தியர்கள் இரு குடைகளின் கீழ்
செயல்படவேண்டும் என்று கூறிய அமைச்சர், அது பற்றி விளக்கினார்.
ஒருவர் மற்றவரின் கலாசாரங்களையும், நம்பிக்கை களையும் புரிந்தும்
மதித்தும் நடக்க வேண்டும் என்றார்.
ஒரு குடையின் கீழ் நமது இந்தியச்
சமூகத்தில் அனைவரும் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து இது போன்ற நிகழ்ச்சிகளை நடத்த
முன் வருவது. ஒருவர் மற்றவருடன் ஒத்துழைத்து வசதி குறைந்தவர்களுக்கு
உதவுதல் போன்ற காரியங்களில் ஈடுபடுதல்.
சமூகத்துக்கு அப்பால்
செயல்படுவதை மற்றொரு குடை என்று அமைச்சர் தர்மன் வர்ணித்தார். அங்கு
இந்தியர்கள், சீனர்கள், மலாய்க்காரர்கள் போன்ற பிற இனத்தவர்களுடன்
ஒன்றிணைந்து நாம் அனைவரும் அமைதியுடனும், வளப்பத்துடனும் வாழ்வதை
உறுதி செய்தல்.
தமிழ் மொழி வளர்ச்சியை
மேம்படுத்துவதிலும், நமது பிள்ளைகள் கல்வியில் உன்னதத்தை அடைய
ஊக்குவிப்பதிலும் தமிழர் பேரவையும், அதன் தோழமை அமைப்புகளுக்கும்
அமைச்சர் தர்மன் தமது பாராட்டு களையும் நன்றிகளையும் தெரிவித்துக்
கொண்டார்.
பின்னர் அமைச்சர், 15
தமிழ் மாணவர்களுக்குச் சான்றிதழ்களுடன் ரொக்கப்பரிசும் வழங்கினார்.
‘ஏ’ நிலை, ‘ஓ’ நிலை மற்றும்
தொடக்கப்பள்ளி இறுதித் தேர்வில் சிறப்புத் தேர்ச்சி பெற்ற மாணவர்கள்
தலா 300 வெள்ளி முதல் 200
வெள்ளி வரை ரொக்கப் பரிசு பெற்றனர்.

Celebrations & TRC Excellence Awards 2008
UNITY UNDER ONE UMBRELLA
TRC has for the past 3 years been in the forefront in organizing
the National Day Celebrations on behalf of the Tamil Community.
Under the theme, "Unity Under One Umbrella", the event is a
showcase for the unity, cohesiveness and cooperation amongst the
various Tamil based Community
Organisations in Singapore.
This year's event
was held on Saturday, 30th August 2008 at The Grassroots Club in
Yio Chu Kang. The event was organized with the support of TRC's
Affiliate organizations. More than 500 people from all walks of
life attended the event and enjoyed themselves.
TRC's Excellence
Awards to the top Tamil students in last year's PSLE, GCE'O' and
'A' level examinations were presented to 14 Tamil Students. This
year our annual National Day Community Excellence Award was
presented to Mr Mohamed Abdul Jaleel, Managing Director of MES
Group of Companies.
GOH, Mr Tharman
Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Finance remarked that such events
create an opportunity for the leading Indian Organisations to
come together and celebrate occasions like the National Day. In
this regard he also noted that all the major Organisations like
SINDA, Tamil Language Council, Narpani Pearavai, LISHA and STTU
were present at the event.
The event
provided excellent entertainment from local and Malaysian
artistes coordinated by The Sirpigal, one of our Affiliates.
Buffet dinner by Gayatri Restaurant and lucky draws added spice
to the event.
