The Association is active in promoting Tamil language, literature and culture. Muthamizh Vizha is an annual event organized by the Association of Singapore Tamil Writers to promote the use of Tamil language among students and to develop an interest in creative writing among them. Singapore Ceylon Tamils Association

In 1909, the Ceylon Tamils who had grown in number to about 300 families, formed the Singapore Ceylon Tamils’ Association (SCTA). In 1913, a Building Committee was formed to renovate the premises for the ever growing number of devotees.
In 1923, the SCTA became the official keeper and manager of this autonomous Temple. From that year onwards, the Temple Committee was elected from among the SCTA members. SCTA is the umbrella organization of a World Class Temple, which is a National Heritage Board historical site. SCTA is an apex organization with a rich and vibrant past, extending over one hundred years. Membership figures of this privileged organisation now stands at more than 1400.

Set up to as an organization to represent and look after the interests of the Tamil Muslims from the region of Kadayanallur in Tamil Nadu. The Society was interested in educating their children in their mother tongue (Tamil) as it was imperative that they promote their cultural values. Organises Annual Family Day which attracts a few thousand members.

Singapore Tamil Youths Club

The origins of Sri Ruthra Kaliamman Temple go back to the year 1913 when it was setup as a small shrine, housed in a wooden building. Construction work on its current location started on 27th October, 1980 and the consecration of the new temple was held on 11th September 1983.

United Indian Muslim Association

The United Indian Muslim Association (UIMA) is a registered volunteer welfare service organization. UIMA is an associate member of National Council of Social Service (NCSS). It is also a member of Mendaki. Since its inception in 1963, UIMA is dedicated to helping communities, and promoting goodwill, understanding and cooperation amongst the various communities in Singapore.
Of the various initiatives organized by UIMA, one of the well-known programmes is the bursary awards. These awards are given to needy students, irrespective of their racial, religious nd cultural background. Some 250 students are given these bursary awards annually. IMA's core activity now includes running a Child Care Centre under the brand name of Little Dolphins Playskool. This is in addition to its other activities which include the fore- entioned annual education bursary award, annual National Day celebrations, cross- ultural dialogues, and moral education.
